Divine Voices Gospel Choir

Founded In 2013

Established in 2013 at Christian Brothers University, the Divine Voices Gospel Choir seeks to bring inspiration to campus, one gospel song at a time. Divine Voices was founded, directed, and led by Kierra Turner and co-founded by Devon Wade. Diana Lockett, Larshay Watson, Sammurelle Savage, and RaKesha Gray also served on the EC (Executive Council) team. Under their leadership, we had three spring concerts. DVGC also sang at the CBU Annual Christmas Dinner, the MLK Prayer Service, 2016 Commencement, at a community event and even had time in a midtown recording studio. The choir also participated in community service/fundraising by working a booth at the Grizzlies’ game. After their graduation, RaKesha Gray served as the interim choir president for 2016-17 school year. DVGC continued the tradition of singing at the Annual Christmas Dinner and the MLK Prayer Service and also received and accepted new invitations to sing at Welcome Back Weekend Mass, Annual Employee Appreciation Luncheon through Career Services, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Youth Pep Rally, a regular weekly mass co-sponsored by campus ministry and the Black Student Association, and we also sang the national anthem at our very first sporting event, Lady Bucs Softball Game and we had an alto represent the choir at the Tri-Beta Annual Volleyball Fundraiser. We also received other church invitations that we could not accept. Our Co-Presidents for the 2017-18 academic year are Ms. Ana Garcia and Mr. Cedric Turner.
